Description

"better together.”

What does it mean? The message behind the motto goes beyond the surface level conjured image of peace and harmony (which, don’t get us wrong, is great), but one that says that we as a community are more impactful when we act together. When we join hands as friends, neighbors, supporters, and partners our collective spirit and power is mighty. When we choose to acknowledge what unites us, rather than what separates us, we can lift eachother up. Our community is stronger, when we seek to remove barriers that hold some people back from fully participating in the community. Our community is stronger when we dream for a future where all people have the opportunity to thrive - no matter where one is born. We as a West Michigan community when we embrace our diversity --  when we acknowledge our differing strengths and weaknesses -- and come together to create a thriving home where everyone has an opportunity to succeed.

We are, better togehter, PERIOD.

Come, join the Refugee Education Center, in our annual celebration of this vision! Whether you are a volunteer, supporter, refugee, or have no connection to our mission yet at all - we welcome you!
